Parents & guardians

This guide describes what you can typically do in OmniTrack as a parent or guardian. Exact screens may vary slightly by school or region.

What you use OmniTrack for

  • See which bus or route is linked to your child (when your school enables this).
  • Follow status updates such as pickup, on the way, or arrived (depending on what your school turns on).
  • Receive notifications when the school or operator configures them.
  • Open Help to send a support ticket, or Ideas to vote on product improvements (if your account has access).

First-time access

  1. Use the link, invitation, or instructions your school gives you. Do not download unknown copies of the app from unofficial stores.
  2. Sign in with the email or phone number your school registered.
  3. If you must set a password, choose one that is long and unique — see Account & security.

Home and children

  • Your dashboard usually lists the children linked to your account.
  • Open a child profile to see details your school exposes (for example class, stops, or vehicle assignment — only what the school chooses to share).

Routes and map

  • If live map or route view is enabled, positions are shown with a delay and accuracy that depend on GPS, network coverage, and school policy.
  • If something looks stuck (bus not moving on the map), it may be a temporary GPS or network issue. Wait a few minutes, refresh, and contact the school if it continues.

Notifications

  • Allow notifications in your phone settings if you want alerts.
  • If you get too many or too few alerts, ask your school what they have configured; not every event creates a notification.

Privacy

  • Only authorized people at the school or operator should see student lists and live data.
  • Do not share screenshots that contain other children’s names or personal data in public groups or social media.

If you cannot log in

  1. Check that you use the same method the school gave you (email vs phone, correct spelling).
  2. Use password reset if available.
  3. Contact your school office — they can verify that your account is active and linked to the correct child.
