Drivers

This guide is for professional bus drivers using the OmniTrack driver experience. Your operator defines which features are active.

Before you drive

  1. Sign in with the credentials your operator or garage gives you — never share your password.
  2. Check that the vehicle you select matches the plate and route you were assigned.
  3. Confirm children count or checklist procedures your school or operator requires (if shown in the app).

During a trip

  • Follow local traffic law and your employer’s safety rules first; the app supports your workflow but does not replace regulations.
  • If the app shows stops or order, follow the active assignment. If it conflicts with written instructions from dispatch, call dispatch and resolve before proceeding.
  • Minimise phone handling while driving — use voice or pull over when you must interact with the app.

GPS and connectivity

  • Live tracking depends on GPS and mobile data. Tunnels, weather, and device placement can weaken the signal.
  • If the app shows offline or no location, continue the route as instructed by dispatch; connectivity often recovers automatically.

Incidents and delays

  • Report accidents, long delays, or route deviations through the process your operator defined (in-app, radio, phone — follow your handbook).
  • Do not post internal pupil lists or incident details on personal social media.

Help and ideas in the header

  • Help — open a support-style ticket for technical or operational problems (login, wrong vehicle, app errors).
  • Ideas — suggest improvements or vote on existing ideas when your tenant enables this.

End of shift

  • Sign out on shared tablets or phones so the next driver cannot act under your account.
  • Charge or store devices according to garage rules.
